WordPress Venue Search Website

Project Overview

The Challenge

Our brief was to create a website that would provide users a means of searching for venues and to enquire about them. The search would be based on budget, numbers of people and location. Visitors should be able to save details of venues they have found and enquire about multiple venues in on message.

The Solution

The client was already very familiar with WordPress and the interface and functionality suited their requirements, which included blogging reviews of venues. Our team were able to come up with a layout that worked on both desktop and mobile that enabled quick search and easy to access maps and results. We hooked into the Google Maps API to provide precise search data showing results within a specified radius of the required location. Map results showed markers for venues which when clicked on would reveal the name of the venue and a means of accessing further details including the closest tube station, minimum spend and seating capacity. An easy to using Favourites function adds details to the visitors shortlist and all data collected is used in the enquiry form sent to the client.

Outcome

London alone contains a huge number of venues and our client was able to load content while we perfected and tested the interface. To date there are over 900 venues loaded and with Facebook and Twitter posts driving traffic we are seeing a lot of searches and enquiries.

Dan, Sam and the team at DJA did an amazing job with building our Flavour Venue Search website. They offered solid development advice. The site looks slick, works efficiently and gives a great impression of our business. Thanks DJA. – Tom Evans, Director, Flavour Venue Search
