Campaign Website & Online Petition Created With WordPress
Project Overview
Through our membership of the East End Trades Guild, and with help from the New Economics Foundation, we were asked to help establish a website to gather signatures for a petition against rent rises for businesses occupying railway arches across the UK. The campaign is called Guardians of the Arches and aims to “…work with all the small businesses to join us to build a democratic and inclusive tenants association that can take effective and strategic action with locally rooted tenants and for the communities that they serve…”
Plugins and theme used
The construction of the website was deliberately simple, with its focus on gathering signatures to back the Guardians of the Arches campaign, keep people informed and represent businesses highlighted in the campaign. It uses a Genesis child theme called Atmosphere Pro, Ninja Forms, Soliloquy Slider and the Popup Maker plugin. We were fortunate to be provided with photos by Sarah Ainslie which we used in a simple slider across the top of the homepage. Composite images were created in Photoshop and added to the Soliloquy slider.
Response to the campaign
We are glad to see the campaign has received huge support including taking their case to parliament. Please sign the letter and show your support.
